Charles Harris Library Gallery
exhibitions Call to Artists: The Charles Harris Library Gallery is currently seeking submissions from area artists for the 2009 Community Art Show this June. This annual exhibition was established in 1985 to showcase the region’s artists. All artistic mediums are accepted including paintings, photography, drawings, sculpture and other. Each artist may submit up to three works. Items ultimately selected for the show will be determined by the Gallery Director and/or members of the Library Gallery Board.

To be considered for the show work must be delivered to the gallery 
ready-to-hang on Monday through Thursday, June 1st through 4th during normal library hours. A lender’s agreement form must be included with all submitted work.

The exhibition will remain open for the month of June, with a reception to be held later in the month.

Rules of Exhibiting:

-Artwork must be delivered to gallery during the time period listed above.
-Each artwork must arrive ready-to-hang or display with wire, hooks, or other appropriate hanging hardware.
-Each artwork must be labeled on reverse with owner, title, date, and value/price.
-Exhibitors must sign the lender's agreement form and deliver along with the artworks.
-All accepted work must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. Unsold art must be picked up during the announced period following the exhibition.
-The gallery retains a 25% commission on all work sold. Gallery members are charged a reduced rate of 15%. The gallery is a tax-exempt non-profit organization, and the commission is tax deductible.
-The gallery reserves the right not to exhibit submitted work for any reason, including for not meeting the above parameters.
